SEPI MAKABI
Sepi Makabi is an Iranian American Los Angeles based filmmaker and producer with nearly 20 years of experience in unscripted television and documentary storytelling. Her career began as a young intern in the Viacom development department, where she quickly rose through the ranks, building a foundation in story development, production, and network collaboration.
Makabi went on to produce unscripted programming for major media companies including NBCUniversal, A&E Networks, Discovery Networks, and Disney. Over the course of her career, she has helped develop and produce hit series across a wide range of genres and platforms, including MTV’s Run’s House, A&E’s Pride & Prejudice, USA’s Boston’s Finest, Bravo’s Shahs of Sunset, Disney’s Prop Culture, and many others.
Known for her strong creative instincts and deep respect for character-driven storytelling, Makabi now brings her decades of experience into the documentary space—focusing on socially relevant stories that blend cinematic filmmaking with cultural urgency. Through NewMil Media, she continues to build projects that elevate underrepresented voices and connect audiences to the human stories shaping our time.

SUE TURLEY
Sue Turley is the Senior Vice President for Development, Production and Strategic Partnerships for XRM Media. In this role, she is responsible for XRM’s interests in all areas of content-related investments and initiatives, with special attention to adapting intellectual properties across multiple formats. Prior, Sue was the Managing Director for ro*co films productions for 18 years. An industry veteran, Sue has a strong track record in identifying, and partnering with filmmakers from around the world in producing and distributing award winning and Oscar nominated projects; Sue's current slate of Executed Produced/Produced films include: Sundance 2025 THE STRINGER (Netflix Original), directed by Bao Nguyen, TIFF's 2025 Special Gala Presentation Film, YOU HAD TO BE THERE, directed by Nick Davis, and Executed Producer by Judd Apatow, and Sundance 2023 Audience Award, Oscar Shortlisted and BAFTA Nominated; BEYOND UTOPIA, directed by Madeleine Gavin.

David is the founder of the Los Angeles–based production company Special Order, which has produced film and television projects for Disney+, Vice, Netflix, Bravo, MTV, Searchlight, A24, and others. Select credits include Theater Camp (Searchlight, post-production), Sacramento (Disney+, post-production), For Madmen Only (SXSW 2020, Netflix), Miss Brown (Tribeca 2023), Cannabis Buyers Club (Tribeca 2022), and Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever (Disney+). Upcoming projects include the IMAX feature Stormbound, produced with HyperObject Industries and premiering at Sundance 2026. He is proud to have won a James Beard Award for the 2025 MasterClass production G.O.A.T.
Against all odds, his animated short Chainsaw of Love will debut on the streaming platform Crafty in 2026—proof that short filmmakers should never give up hope

Wax is an Emmy, Peabody, Morrow, and Telly Award-winning documentary editor and producer with over 20 years of experience crafting impactful, cutting-edge films and series.
Splitting time between Los Angeles and New York City, Wax spent a decade with CNN, where she built a reputation as a passionate storyteller with a distinct cinematic vision. Wax has also Edited/Produced documentary series and films for HBOMax, Netflix, AMC, PBS, CNNi, VH1, A&E, Peacock, Fuze, Revolt, Disney+ and festivals, including SXSW.
Driven by curiosity about the world — its cultures, people, and social causes — Wax brings authenticity and depth to every project, as her journey is one of resilience: from being orphaned and homeless to earning a BFA with honors, thanks to a few very random acts of kindness.
Now, it is her life’s mission to give back. To enlighten, empower and inspire viewers, thru an elevated, innovative and artistic lens. To give a voice to the voiceless. To share the stories that matter.

David Tillman is a Peabody and Emmy Award-winning editor, producer, writer and director who has been making films for more than 20 years.
David has worked on more than 200 hours of broadcast and streaming television as a producer, editor, writer, segment director and Vice President of Creative Content for networks and streamers such as Netflix, HBO, Disney+, National Geographic, Peacock, Discovery Channel, PBS, A&E, MSNBC, Travel Channel, Lifetime, Ovation, Smithsonian Channel and more.
David has helped to tell the stories of some of the most iconic figures and historical events of the last 100 years, including the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination, Bombing of Pearl Harbor, Apollo Moon landing, Challenger Disaster, 9/11, LA Riots, O.J. Simpson trial, January 6th Insurrection, the origins of Bitcoin and many more.
Most recently, he edited The Jinx: Part 2 for HBO, which received 3 Emmy nominations, and American Manhunt: OJ Simpson, Amy Bradley is Missing and America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys for Netflix, with each spending weeks in Netflix’s Top 10.
